The Syscoin development team is delighted to announce the launch of the Syscoin Bridge protocol. Starting from block 348,000, ERC-20 tokens will be able to cross over to the Syscoin ecosystem. In doing so they can benefit from Syscoin’s high transaction throughput, low fees, and near-instant secure transactions, while retaining Ethereum’s smart contract functionality and overall supply across both chains.
After several successful Block Parties here in the UK, we have decided to go international. We've proudly partnered with Syscoin to host our first Block Party event in mainland Europe - and we want to see you there on the night in Amsterdam. So pack your suitcase and join us in one of the world’s most beautiful cities and enjoy an evening of blockchain and cryptocurrency, networking, food, drinks and music!
Not only marking the start of Summer, June also saw the return of the Blocknorth Block Party! This time the event was hosted in collaboration with the outstanding team at DigitalCity, based out of Teesside University. The CPED venue on the Darlington Campus is a fantastic modern setting and was perfect for our latest evening of blockchain. ‘Party’ is a key word for these events – they offer an informal setting where we combine business networking with beer, pizza and informative blockchain presentations!
This week we ran a (cracking) workshop with QEM – and amongst other things we kept coming back to something of a chestnut of a question – what is the simplest figurative representation of a blockchain?
Blocknorth, along with Muckle Solicitors and Barclays Eagle Labs were delighted to be invited to present to the Common Purpose North East Of England Graduate Connect Event, March 12th 2019, which focussed on the impact of emerging technologies and their potential impact upon market sectors both in the immediate and in the future.
We were delighted to host another online Blocknorth think-shop session with Michael & Thomas Wedel from IBM Europe, covering many things, cabbages and kings. One of the elements of the think-shop which struck me was an echo of a conversation we’d recently had with one of our technology clients, during which we had tried to define what might be understood as the key characteristics of a blockchain system.
